Our commitment

AI that strengthens
healthcare infrastructure.

Our use of AI is intentionally limited, transparent, and designed to support — not replace — human expertise and clinical judgement.

Responsible AI

Five principles. No exceptions.

These are not aspirations. They are operational commitments reflected in our internal AI governance policy and enforced across our engineering practices.

Principle 02
Human oversight and accountability
AI is used only to support our internal team — in software development, documentation, and workflow optimisation. All AI-generated outputs are reviewed by qualified Synapto personnel before use in production systems or customer-facing materials. AI never operates autonomously in ways that affect clinical workflows, compliance outcomes, or patient care.
Principle 03
Transparency in how AI is used
We clearly disclose where and how AI assists our internal processes. We do not use AI for automated decision-making, profiling, or risk scoring. If AI-assisted tooling is ever introduced into a customer engagement, it will only be done with explicit notice, safeguards, and approval.
Principle 04
Secure and controlled third-party AI use
When we use third-party AI services to support internal development, they operate under strict contractual limits — prohibited from using Synapto data for their own model training. No confidential customer information, credentials, or patient-related data are ever entered into public AI systems.
Principle 05
Continuous review and governance
All AI use at Synapto is governed by our internal AI Use Policy (POL-AI-001), reviewed whenever a new tool is adopted or usage materially changes. As AI evolves, our commitment remains the same: safety, privacy, and trust above all.
Where AI does and does not operate

A clear line.

We are explicit about the boundary between AI-assisted internal work and AI-free clinical infrastructure.

AI assists with
Internal software development and code review
Technical documentation and compliance writing
Testing with synthetically generated data
Marketing content and website copy
Research and summarisation of public information
AI never touches
Clinical data from any Synapto Bridge deployment
Patient records, lab results, radiology, or discharge summaries
FHIR transformation, LOINC mapping, or ICD-10 encoding
Practitioner attestation or compliance decision logic
Automated decisions affecting patient care or records
Our promise

AI will never compromise the privacy of your data, the integrity of your systems, or the safety of your patients.

Our role is to build reliable, compliant infrastructure. The bridge between your clinical systems and national health mandates must be deterministic, auditable, and human-attested — not probabilistic. That principle shapes every decision we make about AI.

Questions about our AI practices?

We're happy to discuss our AI governance in detail — in procurement conversations, security reviews, or compliance assessments. Our internal AI Use Policy (POL-AI-001) is available on request.
